I want to start my site with a short take on how this site came to be and why it was me that started it. How does one go from a soldier, and/or a leader of soldiers, to owning a successful business, to disabled and not working at all, and now this, an online activist.
It is important to know that I feel that this is more of a duty I need to do. I found my calling in life when I joined the Army, and I don’t mean soldier, but being a leader. As a leader in the service I found out how much help I could provide to the people I was leading, and their families, and sometimes even there friends. Throughout my career I was able to see the effects of my leadership and how much fellow soldiers relied on the help I could provide them. I made soldiers good at their jobs while gaining their confidence and respect. I taught them skills and techniques to help them with daily life struggles, finances, stress management, problem solving skills, threat assessment, risk assessment, and many other things that made them more capable of dealing with the many problems life throws at us. Doing these things made me feel accomplished and good about myself.
Now I am in a really tough spot in life where I have faced more challenges than I could overcome. I have reached out for help, and there is no help to be found. I am now facing problems the government has failed to address, or even acknowledge for that matter. In the face of all this adversity I thought, if I (the leader of over 200 soldiers at times, and mentor to more people than I can count) can’t deal with this or find help, how could all these other people I use to help find their way if they were to find themselves in my shoes, or the thousands of other people in our country that may be dealing with my issues. So I have decided to be the Voice of the People that need to be heard, in hope that I may be the start of the solution to some of these problems.
I have been delaying opening this site till I have been able to complete a few posts and make sure everything is written well. Instead I have decided to launch the site and I will get better as I gain experience from actually doing. So apologies for not being a well written author of this site, but I feel getting the information out is more important than perfect English.
